MOVING Services Agreement

The Customer hires Personal Movers to provide moving services in accordance with
the following terms and conditions:

A. Location – Personal Movers will transport Customer’s possessions, furniture, appliances and goods
(herein “property”) from:
Current Address (“pick-up address”)
to:
Final Destination Address (“drop-off address”)

B. Timing – Personal Movers agree to arrive in a two – hour window from scheduled time (if the booking
is not the first of the day). In the rare case that Personal Movers cannot arrive at the Customer’s property
within specified two-hour window, Personal Movers will call the Customer and let them know when
they will arrive at the pick-up address.

C. Moving Services – Personal Movers will load all of the Customer’s property from the Customer’s pickup address into a moving truck, will transport property to the destination address, and will unload all of the
Customer’s property at their destination address. The following apply:

i. If the Customer provides his own truck for the move and hires Personal Movers only for loading the
truck, the Customer must provide necessary padding, protection and tie downs.

ii. The Customer must be ready for their move to begin when the movers arrive. Billable time will
commence upon the movers’ arrival at the pick-up address.

iii. Personal Movers cannot predict, nor can be held responsible, or liable for a late arrival as a result of
weather, traffic, mechanical failure, or other factors outside of the company’s control.
iv. Personal Movers will disassemble furniture as is appropriate for the move and assemble the furniture
upon Customer request.

v. Specialty items such as, but not limited to: extra heavy items, pool tables, sports equipment, major
appliances, pianos, fish tanks, safes or any other equipment must be disclosed to Personal Movers prior
to the move as they might be subject to an additional charge.

vi. If Personal Movers feels pressure from the customer to rush, all work shall cease until that pressure
is removed. Although Personal Movers’ crews work as fast and efficiently as possible, the safety of the
Customers’ belongings and Personal Movers’ employees is paramount.

vii. Personal Movers has the right to refuse partial or complete service for the following reasons but not
limited to: The Customer is unprepared to move, overall uncleanliness of the property, abusive treatment
of Personal Movers’ employees by the Customer or any person on the premises, any condition that is
hazardous or a health risk to Personal Movers’ employees, if the Customer asks to perform tasks that
border on the impossible.

viii. For safety reasons, small children and pets must be out of moving area.

ix. Personal Movers will use the agreed upon number of movers, during the loading and unloading
phases.

x. Personal Movers will use the agreed upon size of the truck.

The Customer agrees to pay Personal Movers in accordance with the following terms:

A. Hourly Rate – The Customer will pay Personal Movers agreed upon price per hour during the
packing, loading and unloading phases. The Customer will pay Personal Movers for the driving time.

B. The hourly rate applies to all employees at once and not to each individual employee.

C. Other Costs:
i. The Customer will not pay per km.

ii. The Customer agrees to pay agreed upon hourly rate for any waiting time caused by the Customer’s
tardiness as well as all downtime (waiting for elevators to be set up or arrive, for new keys to be
delivered, traffic, the Customer inspecting their belongings upon delivery, etc.)

iii. The Customer agrees to pay any additional charges agreed upon for hard to move, extra heavy, or
specialty items such as but not limited to: pool tables, sport machines, pianos, safes, hot tubs, major
appliances, or fragile items. Additional charge will be added to your bill.

iv. The Customer agrees to pay any additional charge agreed upon for the use of stairs if the move is in
the building without an elevator or an elevator cannot be used during the move. Additional charge
will be added to your bill.

v. The Customer agrees to pay an additional charge agreed upon for travel time. Additional charge of
will be added to your bill.

vi. The Customer agrees to pay an additional charge agreed upon for requested packing material.
Additional charge will be added to your bill.

D. Maximum Cost – there is no limit on the cost that Personal Movers may charge for work completed
under the terms of this Agreement.

E. Terms and Time of Payment – The Customer agrees to pay Personal Movers an agreed upon nonrefundable deposit as per the date indicated in the confirmation e-mail. The remaining balance is due
immediately upon completion of the move by Personal Movers.

The amount of hours of services rendered will be rounded to the next half an hour. For example, if the move takes 2 hours and 10 minutes to complete Personal Movers will round to 2 hours and a half or if the move takes 2 hours and 40 minutes to complete Personal Movers will round to 3 hours. The hourly rate starts to be counted from the time the movers arrive at The Customer’s pick up location until the moment they finish working (all of the moving equipment, blankets, etc. are back in the truck).

Accounts not paid in full within 48 hours or two days of the due date are subject to a payment of 4.5%
late fee charge of the unpaid amount plus $25 collection charge.

There will be 4% processing fee added to the total balance when the Customer is paying via any type
of credit card.
Personal Movers reserves the right to collect payment from the Customer for services rendered
before the move is completed

The deposit paid is non-refundable and can only be used towards re-scheduling. The Customer may reschedule their moving date up until 5 days prior to the original moving date. If the Customer tries to re-schedule their moving date after 5 days before the start of the move, paid deposit will not be used towards re-scheduling and will not be refunded. The rescheduling of a moving date is subject to availability. The Customer must call Personal Movers at (403)992 – 6229 or send an e-mail to info@personalmovers.ca to request a rescheduling or make a cancellation.

Personal Movers hereby agrees that it understands the requirements and intricacies of the Customer’s move and that it will not charge the Customer any additional costs for any services not described in this Agreement.

Personal Movers hereby asserts that it is properly licensed and insured under applicable provincial and federal laws.

A. Released Value Coverage – Personal Movers will insure the Customers’ property for up to a maximum of 0.60 cents/lb per article for accidental damages caused by Personal Movers’ crews.

B. Additional Value Coverage – If the Customer chooses this type of coverage Personal Movers will insure the Customers’ property for up to a maximum of $5/lb per item for any damages to the Customers’ items caused by Personal Movers’ crews. The premium for this type of coverage is $350 ($150 deductible will apply to all claims).

Please note: Personal Movers reserve the right to repair all damage(s) in question. If Personal Movers feels that
the damage cannot be repaired, the Customer will be compensated $0.60/lb or $5/lb per damaged item in full
and final compensation will be given in exchange for a release from the Customer of any further obligations in
relation to the damage. The Customer must notify Personal Movers of any damages prior to the movers’
departure at the end of moving service. Personal Movers will not accept claims for damages that were not
noted by the Customer at the end of moving service. Applicable notes about these damages must be made
in writing on the bill of lading on the day of your move before movers leave your premises. Our company
standards do assume a full inspection of furniture by both our movers and customers; however the final
inspection is the responsibility of the customer.

All claims involving damages must be made in writing (the “claim”) to Personal Movers within 72 hours
of completion of the move. The Customer needs to ensure that all accidental damages are listed in one
claim, as Personal Movers will only accept one claim from the Customer.

Please note: Personal Movers have no obligation to honor any claims made later than 48 hours after
completion of the move. Your claim must include photos and description of the damages and explanation of what may have caused them. Personal Movers promise to thoroughly investigate all claims within twenty-one business days, provided there is no outstanding balance owed to Personal Movers.

Finally, please note: it is not acceptable for the Customer to deduct any money from their final bill to compensate themselves for perceived damages. Should Personal Movers have not been compensated for the moving services, Personal Movers reserves the right to refuse processing a claim. Personal Movers will not accept any claims until moving services have been paid in full.

A. Dispute Resolution – In the event of breach or a dispute that cannot be resolved without third party intervention, the Parties agree to resolve their dispute in arbitration.

B. Legal Jurisdiction – In the event of a dispute where federal law does not apply, the Parties agree that Alberta
provincial law will apply.

C. Entire Agreement – This Agreement contains the entire agreement of the parties. No other agreement, statement, or promise made by any party to this Agreement or any third party on or before the effective date of this Agreement will be binding on the parties.

D. Modification – This Agreement may be modified by subsequent agreement of the parties only by an instrument in writing signed by all Parties.

E. Severability – If any provision of this Agreement is held in whole or in part to be unenforceable for any reason,
the remainder of that provision and the entirety Agreement will be severable and remain in effect.

F. Legal Fees – In the event a dispute involving this Agreement is resolved in a third party judicial or quasijudicial proceeding, including arbitration, the prevailing party will have a right to be reimbursed for its legal fees and costs for enforcing its rights under this Agreement.

By signing this Agreement, the Customer agrees to unconditionally release Personal Movers from any
liability whatsoever that might occur should the Customer wish Personal Movers to perform any of
these moving services:
1. IKEA-type assembled engineered wood furniture: Certain pre-fab, simulated furniture including, and without
limitation, furniture made with particle board, press-board and chipboard is not designed to be moved without

being completely disassembled. While assembled it breaks very easily. It’s best that the Customer disassemble
this furniture prior to the move. If the Customer instructs Personal Movers to move this furniture without
disassembly, the Customer hereby acknowledges and agrees that Personal Movers is not liable for any damage
to this furniture.
2. The Personal Movers shall not be held liable for damage caused to the following items, due to the inherent
likelihood that such items may be damaged during a move: Waterbeds, foam or any kind of sleeping
mattresses, simulated wood/ press-board/ laminated/ modular furniture (including particle board
furniture), IKEA furniture, lamp shades, any and all lamp/light fixtures, furniture intended for one-time
assembly, and other similar items.
3. Furniture: such as computer desks, entertainment centers, some bookcases, large heavy tables, etc., should be
disassembled in order to safely move them. If those items cannot be disassembled or the Customer requests
items be moved assembled Personal Movers will not be liable for any damages.
4. Storage Units: If the Customer hires Personal Movers to load or unload the Customer’s storage unit, Personal
Movers is not responsible for any damage to any item that was not a direct result of the performance of moving
services.
5. Fragile Items: Personal Movers is not responsible for damage to items that are extremely fragile. Dishware,
porcelain, glasses, pictures, lamp shades, and other specialty items are not covered by Personal Movers’
coverage unless packed by our professional movers using adequate packing materials provided by the
Customer or pre-ordered from Personal Movers prior to the moving day. The Customer may purchase his or
her own packing materials (packing paper, bubble wrap, foam peanuts, cartons, tape, etc.) and pack such items
her/himself prior to the move, and our movers will take great precaution to ensure they are transported as
safely as possible, however they will not be covered under the insurance coverage.
6. Unpacked/unboxed items: TVs (please refer to section 7), mirrors, lamps, lamp shades, pottery, ceramic items,
drapes (need to be taken down by the Customer), picture frames, hanging artwork, glass shelves, glass table
tops, marble tops and other fragile items need to be packed//boxed/protected by the Customer before the start
of the move. Personal Movers will take a great care in wrapping those items in blankets/shrink wrap for safe
moving/transportation but if those items are not requested to be packed by Personal Movers with proper
packing material Personal Movers will not be held liable for any damages (packing material needs to be
requested prior to the moving day).
7. Unboxed TVs: In order for TVs to be moved safely and without any damages they need to be boxed up. The
Customer must supply Personal Movers with an original TV box (in a good condition) on the moving day or
pre-order a TV box from Personal Movers prior to the moving day. If the Customer does not have an original
TV box and does not want to pre-order a TV box from Personal Movers before the moving day Personal
Movers will not be held liable for any damages made to the TV. The movers will take a great care in moving
the TV without the box and will wrap it in the blankets for safe transportation but please note in that case there
will be no coverage/liability for moving/transporting the TV.
8. Marble items: Personal Movers will not be held liable for any damages made to all types of marble, due to the
age or hairline crack that can cause splitting when moved. Personal Movers will take a great care in
transporting marble items safely but there will not be any liability or coverage for these kind of items.

9. Small items/pieces: Personal Movers will not be held liable for any missing screws, nails, fasteners, shelf
bracket pegs, etc.
10.Pre-packed Items or Disassembled/Assembled items: Personal Movers is not responsible for any damage to
any item that our employees did not pack or disassembled/assembled.
11. Unload Only Items: Personal Movers is not responsible for any damage to any item transported, loaded or
unloaded from a truck that has not been operated by Personal Movers.
12. Load Only Items: Personal Movers is not responsible for any damages to any item that does not remain in our
immediate care, custody and control. Once the item enters a truck that was not provided by us for the purpose
of providing service to the Customer, it leaves our custody and control and Personal Movers is no longer
responsible for these items.
13. Existing Damage: Personal Movers is not responsible for any damage that occurred prior to the time when a
specific item was placed in our immediate care, custody or control, or for any damage to any item or items
that are not structurally sound or otherwise defective.
14. Extra Heavy Items: Our movers will move your pianos, appliances, and items over 300 lbs., if the work can
be done safely. Unfortunately, damage may result to floor surfaces. If you wish to take this risk Personal
Movers will not be responsible
15. Cabinets, Drawers & Desks: Personal Movers is not responsible for damage to any item in lateral file cabinets,
drawers, or desks that we remove, or for damage to any item that remained in any lateral file cabinet, drawer
or desk during the transport, loading or unloading phase of the move.
16. Appliances: Personal Movers is not responsible for any contents left in the Customer’s appliances, or any
damage to plumbing, electrical systems, or for water damage associated with the connection or disconnection
of any appliance as directed by the Customer. Personal Movers cannot be responsible for dents or scratches
on major appliances as they are covered by a thin metal that has an extreme affinity to dent and scratch.
17. Laundry Appliances: Personal Movers is not responsible for any internal damage to Washing and Drying
Appliances.
18. Valuable Papers: Personal Movers is not responsible for documents, tickets, deeds, manuscripts, blue prints,
plans, specifications, currency, money, bonds, notes, stock certificates or other securities, or other valuable
papers.
19. High-Value Items: Personal Movers is not responsible for jewels, jewelry, gems, precious metal (including
high valued household goods such as silverware, watches, precious stones, pearls, furs or garments trimmed
with fur, or any other high-valued items).
20. Electronic Equipment & Computers of any kind: Personal Movers is not responsible for any damages that may
occur to the inner workings of Electronic Equipment and Computers while moving them.
21. Hazardous Materials: Personal Movers is not responsible for any damage caused by any hazardous material
that the Customer packed and about which the Customer failed to notify Personal Movers.
22.Plants: Personal Movers is not responsible for any damage to live plants, even though we will take the utmost
care if the Customer wants Personal Movers to move them.
23.Pets: Personal Movers will not transport pets, livestock or any living creatures, caged or uncaged.
